SUMMARY:IMPSGA's 20th anniversary: a memorable meeting in Athens
DESCRIPTION:This was quite emotional for the group members as this was the 20th meeting. Even so everybody was enthusiastic about the future and new developments. \n\n\n\nMany thanks to the professionalism of our host\, Intersys a leading MPSprovider in Greece\, as they attracted a lot of fresh thinking from both start ups and academia. \n\n\n\nSimultaneously we were welcoming our first US member\, OneDOC and its amazing business model. First of a series no doubt. We were hosting two sponsors HP and Asolvi\, owners of Evatic\, who shared their views on the market and where they think it is going and what their go forward will be. Most refreshing of all\, there was a positive\, looking towards to embrace the future attitude in spite of the need to manage current issues such as printed volumes and tough competition. \n\n\n\nWe are looking forward to the next meeting in Prague in March 2019.

SUMMARY:IMPSGA members meet in Krakow in October 2017
DESCRIPTION:This meeting had quite a big turnout from the members with 8 companies and 24 people present. The meeting was hosted by Blue Brain\, which was celebrating its 5th anniversary. \n\n\n \n\n\n\nTwo main topics were covered: \n\n\n\n There was a formal presentation by OneQ\, a Danish software company providing cutting-edge Secure Print Management solutions as well as server-less print options. There was further discussion on security in connection with GDPR\, the new European regulation on data privacy\, which represents an opportunity for IMPSGA members\, to develop new security related services to help their customers address this challenge. For example\, printed documents are a major source of data covered by the privacy regulations; electronic content management is also a major area of privacy concerns\, especially as a lot of ECM new software is now in the Cloud\, for the usual benefits of cost\, mobility and convenience\, so compliance is of great importance\, but this involves a complex interlink of legal and technical issue\, which end-users will need help to deal with. EUVIC\, which owns 25% of Blue Brain\, and is responsible for developing and maintaining the PrinterCare software used in Poland\, gave a presentation highlighting its capability to develop advanced software\, serving many large European companies. Among others\, the PrinterCare software designed by BlueBrain and developed by Euvic\, is now promoted throughout Western Europe\, attracting a lot of interest from companies who have commercial access to large numbers of SMB companies. This is clearly an area of growth for all players in the MPS market.SMB is still a mostly untapped opportunity in Europe and finding the proper value proposition for millions of European companies through the right mix of technology\, channel access and marketing efficiency was a core part of the discussions held in Krakow. Another big potential development in this area is the advent of online sales portals\, giving partners the ability to offer SMBs the opportunity to configure and buy simple\, cost-effective MPS solutions\, without the need for expensive direct sales calls.UK member M2 is developing PrintSimplicity to address this\, and the portal will potentially be available for other members to licence.

SUMMARY:IMPSGA event | 2D and 3D meet at Stratasys EMEA Headquarters
DESCRIPTION:This time members from France\, Great Britain\, Germany\, Netherlands\, French West Indies\, Czech Republic\, Poland and Romania travelled to Rheinmünster next to Baden-Baden in Southern Germany. \n\n\n\nDaniel Princ\, Sales Manager EMEA of Stratasys presented the company\, its leadership position and took the group through the facility to show the technology and its amazing capabilities. \n\n\n\nA long session was devoted to finding exploring potential synergies between the 2D printing market and the 3D market place. \n\n\n\nTaken form a high-level macro view\, one could say that MPS emerged in the 2D printing market once it matured (circa 2000/2005) and started transitioning to Managed Print Services\, which now represents over 50% of the market\, although the proportion varies by country and by customer segment. \n\n\n\n3D printing is in a much earlier phase of its development cycle\n\n\n\n3D printing is in a much earlier phase of its development cycle with a lot of technologies burgeoning and becoming available. Progress in performance and prices is being made at a rapid rate. Moore’s law is at work in this space. \n\n\n\nFrom a more tactical point of view\, if existing print channel partners want to establish themselves in the 3D market\, they will need to adapt and develop capabilities to support highly specialised and technical sales to the R & D and Manufacturing functions of client organisations. \n\n\n\nHowever\, one can also note that technology matures today faster than it used to do in the 1990s\, and the time when Managed 3D Print Services emerge may be nearer than one thinks. \n\n\n\nIt is service oriented companies\, like the members of the Alliance that understand very well the needs to keep production up and running\, and delivering service within tight SLAs. IMPSGA members are extremely well positioned to do that as they currently manage nearly half a million devices throughout their territories. \n\n\n\n“Our members are very successful with managing an important part of their clients’ businesses. Many rules could be applied similarly to 3D printing in manufacturing environments that require high service levels\, technology expertise and field services to support these environments.”Gary Whitbread Commercial Operations Director at M2 digital \n\n\n\nThe IMPSGA members are very open to new opportunities for business\, and recognise 3D printing as a very exciting growth opportunity for the future. \n\n\n\nAll agreed that the sale of such products requires a consultative approach\, which should be reflected in the style and experience of the sales personnel\, just as in the existing MPS business.

SUMMARY:IMPSGA's meet in Paris // Words & pictures
DESCRIPTION:IMPSGA members meet in Paris in June 2017. This meeting had quite a big turnout from the members with 8 companies and 23 people present. \n\n\n\nTwo main topics were covered: \n\n\n\nThere was a formal presentation by HP EMEA executives on the development of HP’s Strategy to address the A3 segment. One topic in particular was covered in detail\,  which was SDS (HP’s Smart Device Services)\, and its potential impact on reducing service requirements for A3 devices\, with the aim of disrupting the current A3 business model used by ‘copier’ vendors. It was also the kick start of work on a strategic plan for the members to work together on developing future revenue streams. Market research shows that MPS\, as we know it\, is getting commoditized and members recognize that. The next step is to continueto work together to find ways to address this\, as the industry moves forward.

SUMMARY:WOERDEN-NL | IMPSGA 2015 first meeting
DESCRIPTION:The IMPSGA first 2015 meeting was held in Woerden NL where our member Xtandit is located. We were hosted in a newly built hotel restaurant that used to be the garrison barracks in the XVIIth century. Great Dutch hospitality! \nThe event was sponsored by Nuance who presented their product lines following their series of acquisitions. Some very good commercial discussions ensued. Nuance would like IMPSGA to be a European-wide INDEPENDENT channel for them. We will work with Nuance and are open to other initiatives to achieve new business opportunities for the members.
